Does a Straight Talk cell phone get signal everywhere like a regular Verizon phone?

Posted on December 28th, 2009 by admin in a straight talk | 2 Comments »

Since Straight Talk phones run off Verizon, wouldn’t they get signal everywhere a Verizon phone would?

And does anyone have Straight Talk? What are your opinions about the service please?

Thank you

Yes I use this phone, and it has the exact coverage of Verizon

They would get a signal that any Verizon PREPAID phone will. ST has NO roaming. If you drop off the Verizon network, NO signal. But Verizon covers a lot anyway.

If you need roaming, Verizon prepaid, Page Plus or Air Voice Express Cdma would be better, though their roaming charges off Verizon network are .20, .59 and 1.10 a minute respectively.( They are all Verizon network resellers with their own customer service ,etc.) It can save you in an emergency. Page Plus has a cheap $40 unlimited talk/text plan and Air Voice offers a plan with 700 minutes that lasts a full year for only $50 a year. They both take any Verizon phone. Straight Talk can ONLY use Straight Talk phones. You CANNOT use Verizon phones on there.
H20 Cdma offers roaming too but they charge .99 cents a minute. However they allow any Verizon phones and has calling to 50 countries at no additional charges as long as you are calling a landline.

Only Page Plus has unlimited, Air Voice Express and H20 do not on Verizon (They have Att unlimited plans with much less coverage on their Att/Gsm side).

Saying that, most prepaid versions of regular carriers also have less coverage including Att and Tmobile. Some more then others (Att Gophone is pretty bad , Tmobile prepaid covers 97% of their regualr network).
