Has anyone heard of the tracfone STRAIGHT TALK service they are supposed to have?
I was reading on the internet that tracfone offers straight talk (unlimited) calling for 45 dollars a month. However I called tracfone myself last week & they said they don’t have it! I don’t understand why it would be on the internet that they DO have it & they tell me they don’t?
Tracfone told you that? That’s a load of bullchips. They own Straight Talk. (And Net10).
They got together with Verizon and launched it two months ago.
It is a new and different division on Tracfone. Know how I know? I contacted them to see if I could sell Straight Talk because it is such a good deal. They basically said, "Not at this time."
Anyhow, ST has two plans. The one you know: $45 for unlimited talk/text/411 and 30 megs web and the original $30 plan for 1000 minutes/1000 messages/411/30 megs.
They have only three phones right now. The LG 200c, the Motorolas W385 and Razr V3. The LG does not have web capability.
The Motorolas do. A lot of people have complained about not being able to get web even on those two.
Right now, you can go to www.straighttalk.com and they will show you how to buy their phones and airtime. Basically, if it is not in a Walmart locally, you have to order the service/phones online at www.walmart.com
Straight Talk does not have the ability to have any other phones put on their system. Their customer service is typically Tracfone/mediocre to horrible. The Verizon network that they use is a third rate version.
Both Regular Verizon and prepaid Verizon has better coverage, particularly in the middle of the country. Verizon prepaid has roaming, Straight Talk Verizon does not, that is what gives Verizon prepaid the edge in coverage.
I would have recommended ST a month ago. But now…How would you like it, if I take Straight Talk , take out 411, cut off 10 megs of web, drop the cost to 39.95 , take out taxes, add roaming, allow you to use any Verizon , Alltel and uh..Straight Talk phone to ever made on it with a minimum of effort? I don’t have to because…
…Someone already did that ! Called Page Plus Cellular, they are another Verizon prepaid reseller with a different name. They basically responded to Straight Talk in a big way and came up with their new unlimited Talk N Text plan . 39.95. Verizon prepaid network w/roaming .No taxes. You can use their Page Plus phones or activate Verizon, Verizon prepaid, Alltel and Straight Talk phones on their network. (Talk /text almost always works, web can be hit or miss. but then again, ST’s own phones were hit and miss with web so wtf).
www.pagepluscellular.com They have been around for over ten years. They have always been low key . They are going to be launching tv, radio, newspaper ads in the near future about this plan.
The unlimited plan has taken them off guard. Their lines are always busy right now. You might want to wait till they get used to the new demand for their plans . Boost mobile was swamped for a while after they launched their unlimited plans back in January. Just be patient.
They usually have customer service that blows Straight Talk/Tracfone’s away.
Check them out. When the dust clears. Take care.

Straight Talk is a service from TracFone.
It’s available at some Walmart retail stores, online at http://www.StraightTalk.com or by calling 1-877-430-2355.
Two prepaid (no-contract) plans are offered: ALL YOU NEED, which is $30 for 30 days of 1,000 nationwide anytime minutes, 1,000 texts and 30MB of data, or UNLIMITED which is $45 for 30 days of Unlimited nationwide anytime minutes and texts, and 30MB of data.
You have your choice of 3 phones, which you purchase directly from Straight Talk.
Coverage is fantastic as it’s on America’s most reliable network.

Straight Talk is a great service and the reception it’s received by customers has been quite positive.
Page Plus is an interesting offering. If you go to their website and search for retail locations, you will see that they are rather… sparse.
And if you decide to visit those locations in person, you’ll have the opportunity to travel to new and exciting neighborhoods that you may not generally go to. You may not want want to do so alone, by the way.
Also, their customer service is wonderful, according to the other answer, yet if you call them, their lines are very busy right now, which sounds less than wonderful to me.
