Is a message of hate the straight talk that McCain promised us? ?

Posted on March 9th, 2010 by admin in mccain straight talk | 25 Comments »

At recent McCain rallies his supporters can be heard shouting, "Kill him" and "Off with his head!"about Obama and McCain says nothing. If anything, he stokes hatred and racial bigotry with his misleading and incendiary ads based on lies and distortions. Is a message of hate the straight talk that McCain promised us?
McCain has indeed said that Obama is a good man, but he never once directly confronted the comments by others who said "Kill him!" and "Terrorist!" and "Off with his head!" That means that he tacitly supports those comments. He should have directly confronted them and said the weren’t true. But no … McCain is an egotist, a bigot and apparently a racist and will do anything to try to get elected, including pandering to the least common denominator of our society.

To everyone defending McCain by saying he told people to cool it when they got out of hand… maybe I’m being too skeptical, but isn’t it possible he’s making a political play by having his campaign whip up this hatred while he plays the good guy and tries to keep it civil?

That same Friday while he was "defending" his opponent, McCain launched his most scathing attack ad on Obama to date.

Does McCain really offer straight talk?

Posted on March 4th, 2010 by admin in mccain straight talk | 20 Comments »

Lobbyists and special interests run his candidacy. Only Hillary is more indebted to them.

IMO, McCain vs Hillary would be a nightmare. Two Washington insiders serving the special interests.

Please vote for Obama, Romney, Paul, or Huckabee.

He offered it in Iowa and New Hampshire. He tried to offer it in Michigan, too.

But when he saw that Huckabee was overtaking him in South Carolina and that Romney was overtaking him in Florida, he switched gears. Suddenly, you could hardly listen to a sentence out of his mouth without hearing the word "conservative" in it. He keeps talking about how he’s always been conservative, and he has so many conservative supporters, and his record is so conservative, and his opponents aren’t really conservative enough, and how if you want a conservative then you should vote for McCain.

That’s not the message he was spouting from the Straight Talk Express in NH. People there weren’t looking for a conservative. They wanted someone who was more independent. Unfortunately, the rest of Republican country still wants a conservative, so McCain has disembarked from the train.

His shift on the illegal immigration issue is pretty much suspect, too, in my mind. He said, "It’s clear that the American people want the border secured first, so that’s what I’m going to do." Straight talk? More like poll-driven. He couldn’t have cared less about what voters thought when he was writing McCain-Kennedy; just like he didn’t care when he wrote McCain-Feingold or McCain-Lieberman.

But now, all of a sudden, he wants to do what the people want? I thought he just wanted to do the right thing.

Can you picture Joe the Plumber and Cindy McCain hanging out together on the Straight Talk Express?

I bet that’s uncomfortable all around.

They are going to dump him after McCain loses the election. Cindy washes her hands after giving him a hand shake.

Did Senator McCain have to change his political positions from his original "Straight Talk Express" candidacy?

Posted on February 28th, 2010 by admin in mccain straight talk | 1 Comment »

Did Senator McCain have to change his political positions from his original "Straight Talk Express" candidacy in 2000 to win the Republican nomination in 2008? Did this hurt or help his efforts to win the election?

Need more information for a political science paper. Thanks :-)

No he did not have to, and he should not have strayed from the "Straight Talk Express" position that he used in the 2000 Presidential Election.

Yes, I believe it hurt his efforts to win the election by alienating the strongest conservatives, many of which only voted for him because of Sarah Palin. His moderateness in debates and inability to attack Obama on his far-left agenda caused him to lose the election in my eyes. McCain believed that moving towards the center would bring more independents towards him, and in turn it did the complete opposite. It angered Conservatives and also caused Independents to see less of a distinction between the Republican and Democratic candidate.

Overall, McCain’s move towards the center was harmful to his candidacy.

Will McCain finally talk about the issues in tonight’s debate instead of putting down Obama?

Posted on February 26th, 2010 by admin in mccain straight talk | 3 Comments »

The McCain supporters have made it clear at the last few Town Hall meetings that they want McCain to ‘go after’ Obama.
So far, McCain’s negative tactics haven’t worked as planned.

Tonight is the last debate. Will McCain finally give ‘Straight Talk’ about the issues tonight or will he continue putting down Obama?

Thoughts?

Of course McCain is not going to give ‘Straight Talk’ about issues. I don’t know what you were thinking… LOL
