Big Oil Fuels John McCain’s Straight Talk Express

Posted on May 3rd, 2010 by admin in mccain straight talk | No Comments »

http://therealmccain.com/oil

Gas prices are hitting all-time highs. Our country is in the midst of a recession thanks in part to our crippling dependence on oil, so what’s John McCain’s plan? Will he hold the corporate leaders of the energy industry accountable when he addresses them today in Houston? Probably not, considering they are some of his biggest fund-raisers.

The Center for Responsive Politics finds that McCain has accepted over $1 million from the oil and gas industry. Many of McCain’s top advisers have lobbied for big oil, which is why he now acts in their best interests, opposing environmental legislation and alternative energy plans. And that’s exactly why we want everyone to know The REAL McCain.

McCain is desperate to distance himself from President Bush. But according to the Center for American Progress Action Fund, McCain has received millions in donations from the same oil, coal, nuclear, chemical, utility, and auto companies that helped the Bush administration create its energy plan—a plan that has raised gasoline to $4 a gallon.

Here’s what you can do: Send this e-mail to ten of your friends, family members, and colleagues. Tell them to send it on to ten people they know. And don’t forget to Digg it! Spread the word that McCain is taking major contributions from wealthy oil executives like Bob Mosbacher, just one of the special interest leaders he’ll be addressing in Houston.

Do you think McCain is giving us ’straight talk’ when he says "we’re proud of that [Paris Hilton] commercial"?

Posted on May 2nd, 2010 by admin in mccain straight talk | 17 Comments »

When asked about the ad in which the McCain campaign compared Obama to Britney Spears and Paris Hilton, McCain said:

"All I can say is we’re proud of that commercial…I believe that we should base this campaign on what we can do for Americans at home and how we can make Americans safe and prosperous and that’s the theme of our campaign."

http://www.allheadlinenews.com/articles/7011801864

I must be missing something, because I don’t really see how comparing Obama to Paris Hilton tells us how we can make America better.

Regardless, do you think McCain was being honest when he said he was proud of the Paris Hilton commercial? If so, what aspect of that commercial is there to be proud of?

I think it’s showing part of Senator McCain’s character that hasn’t been seen….if he’s proud of going against his pledge to run a gentlemanly, respectful non negative campaign….what else can be said…he doesn’t seem to concerned that he’s broken his word in that regard…
I thought the ad to be rather childish, offensive, and quite ugly actually….Just as the one that followed that was even more so..
It was on the news that Ms. Hilton’s mother has spoken out because she and her husband donated the full amount to the McCain campaign, and are not happy that donation money is being used to do ads like this….
I think he was being honest that he’s proud of what the campaigns ads are now….but what there is to be proud of, is something I can’t answer….

Did John McCain sell out America and have the wheels come off his Straight Talk Express or is this just bull?

Posted on April 30th, 2010 by admin in mccain straight talk | 14 Comments »

I will take nothing from John McCain and his service to this nation during military service! He has my respect and I honor him! What is the truth concerning what the New York Times printed about him making backroom deals for friends as a senator….any truth or all bull crap to discredit an American hero! What do you believe and why? I personally give John McCain the benefit of the doubt…he has earned it through the years!

It is the New York Times reporting this and please note, they didn’t have the balls to come right out and say he had had an affair with a beautiful lobbyist, they said that they had been told by others.
This is typical New York Times slime politics.
They make more news than they report.

Why won’t McCain give a "straight talk" answer on birth control?

Posted on April 28th, 2010 by admin in mccain straight talk | 14 Comments »

We all know he was pro-choice before Palin’s nomination. But where does he now stand on birth control?

http://www.americablog.com/2008/07/what-is-john-mccains-problem-with-birth.html

I work part time at a national chain restaurant. If I was a guy, I could get Viagra so I could have sex with my wife. But as a woman, I cannot get birth control.

I had Eclampsia when I delivered my daughter and it continued for several weeks, required 2 emergency room trips and a 9 day hospital stay. I had a seizure.

Due to my age and the high-blood pressure risks associated with Eclampsia I cannot use a birth control method that contains hormones: the pill, the patch, the implant, the shot. I am also allergic to many condoms and lubricants. That leaves me with the sponge or an IUD or withdrawal/rhythm, which is how I got pregnant in the first place.

I would like a copper IUD but Planned Parenthood (by far the cheapest) wants $500 up front- no payments. I don’t have this.

So tell me, what will President McCain do to ensure I get coverage for this very necessary item?

I am 40, in a stable relationship, want no more children, and also cannot afford (no coverage) sterilization.

Tell me how you think this guy can or will help me if he is President.
For those who aren’t getting the point…even the sh itty coverage from the restaurant will cover the "Boner Pill." But it won’t cover an IUD
EDIT: Ha! I can’t write Bo ner in one word!
EDIT: PP has a sliding scale. But not to cover an IUD as this is an ‘invasive’ procedure in the implantation and they need a Dr. to do it, not a nurse or counselor. Yes, my partner works but when the oil bill is $500 and the car insurance bill is $500 and the electricity is $75 and the rent is $1600 and the credit card…all on the same day…not to mention food and baby expenses, it’s damn hard to save $500.
EDIT TO ALL YOU BO NER PEOPLE:

Would you accept covered Viagra? Why isn’ t it these guys responsiblity to get a ha rd on? Why is my uterus "my problem" but their woody is "big business???"
EDIT in AM: Vasectomy is not covered. And my partner has not been with his job long enough for coverage- not sure how good coverage would be there but probably not good. Also no coverage for me through him as we are not married. NOW I’m gonna be told by Palin to abstain.
Chetco, why do all these people say they belong to this group or that and then their kids turn up pregnant, like Ms. Palin’s?

it is a double standard. And people like Palin would chastise you for not accepting any possible pregnancy as a gift from God. She would want you to abstain. So McCain has no answer and Palin’s is right from the old testament.

Now the birth control you want, even getting your tubes tied, should be covered. I don’t have a problem with Viagra being covered, just birth control should be as well.

For you now I would say your partner should get a vasectomy, if you can save the money at all.
