Verizon prepaid number to straight talk prepaid number?
Ok so i have a verizon prepaid plan but straight talk is a better deal i want to switch my number over which i know is possible problem being is my girlfriend has a verizon wireless plan no prepaid i want to know if i switch my number over to straight talk if she could still call me for free I will have my verizon number and even if that dont work i heard straight talk is backed up by verizon. this is the only thing keeping me from switching i dont want it to cost her to call me
MY GIRLFRIEND HAS A PLAN SERVICE NOT A PREPAID AND ITS ON HER PARENTS PLAN
It will prolly start to cost her since you are changing service providers..you might want to call Verizon and confirm. Why doesnt she switch as well? ST saves money in the long run and cant imagine how she would want to stick with Verizon prepaid vs Straight Talk prepaid.

New required Verizon Wireless data plans?
My Verizon contract expires in March, and I’m interested in upgrading my cell phone. I’ve been waiting to do so for a long time. I currently have the LG Chocolate 2, and to put it nicely, it sucks. I didn’t even want that phone, but my parents made me choose a free phone when I lost my other one, and that was one of the only options. Anyway, I had my eye on the LG enV Touch for the longest time. A couple of weeks ago, I was checking out Verizon’s phones when I noticed ALL of the phones with QWERTY keyboards are requiring a $9.99 data plan on top of your monthly plan. The problem is, data plans cover internet usage, and I do not use the internet on my phone. I talked to a Verizon representative and told them that I would not be needing this feature and they told me I needed to pay that monthly fee in order to have one of those phones. Now, these phones aren’t even smart phones, so I think it’s ridiculous they are charging a data package rate. I DO NOT need this! My parents are refusing to pay for this, so that means I’ll end up with a flip phone again. Anyway, my question is, if I end my contract with Verizon in March, and remove my line, can I go through a website that sells Verizon phones like letstalk.com, and pay for a new plan as if I’m a new customer to Verizon? As far as I can tell, this would eliminate the data plan fee. Am I correct?
Please no rude comments. Don’t tell me that I’m spoiled, and I don’t deserve a new phone. I’m a straight "A" student, and definitely think I’ve earned this. I don’t deserve your criticism. Thanks.
That sucks. My parents mentioned switching to AT&T or Boost, but we’re reluctant to because the Verizon IN network was a huge benefit to us (almost all of our friends and family have Verizon). I wonder if I threaten to leave, Verizon will negotiate…doubt it.
They are such con-artists!
You are not correct. Verizon requires a data plan with all but the most basic phones. It doesn’t matter whether you are a new customer or existing customer. It doesn’t matter where you get the phone. It doesn’t matter whether the phone is new or used. It doesn’t matter whether or not you use the internet. If you choose a phone that is "advanced," you are REQUIRED to accept the data plan or the phone will not be activated.
You might want to look at the Samsung Intensity. It has a keyboard and no data plan is required.
at&t wireless help? please 10 points best answer?
so i just at&t i got the blackberry bold 9700 and my daughter got the sony ericsson c905a from at&t. and we bearly had at&t for 3 days. (before i had t-mobile) i live in long beach california .. were t-mobile worked perfect .. and in this last 3 days i have dropped more calls on at&t than i ever did on t-mobile on 2 years! even when my blackberry bold show 5 bars of 3G i put the area code and the number of the person ima call and it just says calling for about 40 seconds and it never rings and its just says ”call failed” and i know its not my phone because my daughters phone also has the same problems . and then after many times of redialing when it finally goes tru and it connects the call im talking with the other person and i can only stay connected for 5 minutes the most then it just drops the call i get call ended with full reception.. also the internet is painfully slow at loading web pages with 5 bars of 3G. it loaded myspace mobile it about 56 seconds i counted the seconds.. also the text messaging is all messed up all my friends have verizon and when i send them a text or pic message they get it like 2 hours late and sometimes they get the message 3 times even though i send it 1 time.. i check my outbox and it says i only sent it 1 time. also when they send me txt messages i get them 3 hours late .. and they always get mad at me cause i reply 3 hours later n they tell what happend i sent u the message 3 hours ago n ur berly replying? also sometimes the calls never come tru even though i have full signal . n again my friends get mad cause they think im avoiding them which im not . n when they leave me a voice mail . my phone says i got a voice mail like 3 hours late ..n today i got my house phone and called my phone n even though i had full reception it went straight to voice mail and i had my blackberry in one hand and my house phone in my other hand and the first 4 times it didnt ring it just went straight to voice mail. and finally the 5 time it went tru . my blackberry started to ring.. also my daughter has all the same problem im having.. so i want to know is this an usual thing on at&t.. is the at&t service always like this?? cause t-mobile never ever gave me soo many problems…. thanks
In some areas, that’s just how your service is going to be with a particular carrier.
If you’ve only had service with AT&T for 3 days, then you can return your phones and cancel your service under the "buyer’s remorse" laws (I think you have even longer in California than you do elsewhere, but I know it’s at least 14 days), and go back to T-Mobile if you want to. Since it sounds like you live in an area with poor AT&T coverage, going back to T-Mobile might be the better option for you.
I used to work for T-Mobile, and think very highly of them; I am still a T-Mobile customer. No company is perfect, of course, but I know how T-Mobile thinks and trains its people, and I would have no hesitation recommending them. You may want to give them a call and see what they can offer you.
Good luck!

Need help solving problem with belkin n wireless modem router?
I bought a belkin n wireless modem router (F5D8636uk4A) I got it all set up and working fine then after about half an hour I couldn’t connect to the internet, even though the internet light on the box was still a solid blue, i then restarted it (unplugged and plugged back in) and it worked again, for another half hour, then the same problem occurred, now eventually i don’t even get the half hour of internet, straight away it appears to set up fine, but truly it isn’t. Anybody know if this is my fault or a problem with the box, I already know that it isn’t a problem with the broadband, I have already talked to my ISP about it.
Sounds like you have a duff router.
Talk to whoever you bought it from.
Wireless Card/USB for Windows 98 laptop?
I bought a Windows 98 operating Compaq laptop, in good condition.
I tried using my mothers linksys wireless card, but it was not 98 compatible.
I went to Staples and talked with a customer service rep. and ended up buying a Windows 98SE compatible USB receiver.
When I attempted to install the software disk it asked for the Windows 98 disk, which didn’t come with the computor.
I then tried to hook it straight up to my router via ethernet cable…but the laptop doesnt have the hook-up for ethernet.
Any advice on what I can try to get on the internet?
If you have no 98 disk, you really need to load a new OS. Anything you need to change on 98 normally requires inserting the disk. Due to likely limitations in resources you should try to get a Windows 2000 disk.
I can’t seem to get blue tooth to work, can you help?
I’m using Window’s 7 and a Samsung R451C cell phone through Straight Talk. My computer did not come with blue tooth, so I bought a USB 2.0 Bluetooth Dongle Wireless Adapter. The cell phone and the computer find each other, but neither one will send files to each other. When I try to send from the phone I get "No registered devices" When I try to send from windows to the cell phone I get an error message saying "An invalid argument was supplied." I don’t know much about cell phones or blue tooth. Does anyone know what to do?
I wish I could help.
just passing it on
