Why did McCain just suspend an aide who doctored a video on Obama? Is the straight talk express derailing?

What did the aide do?
"Republican John McCain’s campaign yesterday suspended a staff member who sent out a provocative video linking Democratic presidential contender Barack Obama to the comments of his spiritual mentor, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright.
The campaign suspended him a few hours later, although it wouldn’t say for how long."

Why just suspend the aide for a few hours-why not get rid of them if they’re falling off McCain’s straight talk express?

Why didn’t Obama walk away from that church instead of going for 20 years. That,is the bigger issue.

    I notice he didn’t fire the aide, just a weekend off. McCain probably ordered the aide to do it and is now covering his tracks.

  6. The aide should not be punished for showing the American public the truth about the video. The video shows exactly what Reverend Jeremiah Wright said and is not edited or censored in any way.

  7. He took action with him. But how does that change the fact that Wright is still a racist. There were tapes on the church’s site where Wright makes racial slurs as well as insane accusations about the government and Aids.

    No, It just shows that John McCain does not believe in mud slinging and will instead be a statesman. Something that both Hillary and Obama have proved not to believe in while they tear each other to pieces. I respect him more for it and should be applauded for his standards.

  9. 1. It was NOT a doctored video. I beleive it was a commercial related to Obama and rev Wright. Pointing out the racism etc.

    2. McCain suspended the staffer immediately. That is a lot more than you can say for Obama and his minister who resigned, vs. being fired.

    3. The staffer did NOT create the video. Simply forwarded it on.

  12. Your example actually only supports the contention that McCain is trying to run a campaign that is both civil and promotes his "Straight Talk Express" agenda.
    The aide did not "doctor" the video – he only supplied a link to an existing video.
    Apparently, McCain does not want to promote his candidacy by using this type of tactic and the low level aide was promptly suspended.
