Did You know John McCain is a Lier?
So much for the straight talk express! McCain who is suppose to speak truthfully, has now been caught in a big lie!
Republican presidential candidate John McCain drew a sharp rebuke Monday from conservatives after he signaled an openness to a higher payroll tax for Social Security, contrary to previous vows not to raise taxes of any kind.
Speaking with reporters on his campaign bus on July 9, he cited a need to shore up Social Security, saying: "I cannot tell you what I would do, except to put everything on the table."
He went a step farther Sunday with his response on a nationally televised talk show to a question about payroll tax increases.
"There is nothing that’s off the table. I have my positions, and I’ll articulate them. But northing’s off the table," McCain said. "I don’t want tax increases. But that doesn’t mean that anything is off the table."
That comment drew a strong response Monday from the Club for Growth, a Washington anti-tax group. McCain’s comments, the group said in a letter to the Arizona senator, are "shocking because you have been adamant in your opposition to raising taxes under any circumstances."
Indeed, McCain frequently has promised not to raise taxes.
He is adamant about not raising taxes but no one with any sense would take a necessary option off the table when negotiating. If I promised that as President the US would never again wage war or fight another country and the next day Canada decided to annex the entire country would I be a liar if I fought? He did not state he would never raise taxes he said he was opposed to raising taxes but if the choice were bankrupting SS or a small tax increase only a total fool would bankrupt SS. Being opposed to something is not saying you would never ever do it under any circumstances. More twisting words to make something be said that wasn’t.
What do you know, jonny really cannot spell.

He is not a liar, as much as he is a flip-flopper…
A liar deceives, a flip-flopper just has no idea where he stands.

I gather that you mean LIAR?
Well that does it, McCain proposes one tax increase and now I’ll have to run over and vote for Obama who promises to run this country right into the ground with his proposed give away programs.

Interesting, although this is nothing new for McCain. I personally found his flipflop on torture to be rather shocking considering his own experiences on the subject. Needless to say, I trust nothing this man says anymore.

whats your point? common sense tells those of us who have it that he did not lie but of course nothing is off the table. like he can control that anyway. his stand is to not raise taxes but if it is unavoidable then it is unavoidable. he has not changed him mind or flipped flopped he told the damn truth you cannot rule out anything but it is not his wish. duh wake up you dem.

Noticed from the responses that some republicans are more hung up on spelling then the truth.

Obama lies too. Guess it’s just a part
of politics. that’s the reason we can’t get
a good and decent guy to run for president
here in the U.S. They all know it’s "dirty
politics" as usual.

President-elect John McCain is a politician to his fingertips.
he knows the value of language (and I imagine he can spell as well), so when he states;
"There is nothing that’s off the table. I have my positions, and I’ll articulate them. But nothings off the table," McCain said. "I don’t want tax increases. But that doesn’t mean that anything is off the table."……
this is called ‘keeping his options open’
Only a clever politician recognises this truth!
