Gay/Straight Can We Talk
This Public Broadcasting Station (PBS) program presents the unique perspectives of heterosexual, homosexual, and bisexual men and women on the issues that divide gay and straight people. Individuals describe for internationally-renowned trainer Brian McNaught how they became comfortable with their own sexual orientation or that of others. In this segment, a Vietnam vet talks about his experience with gay issues. To see the entire DVD, go to www.brian-mcnaught.com.

I don’t think this …
I don’t think this is outdated at all. In fact, it’s a bit more progressive than a great number of people are ready to accept. I suppose if people are actually attending your seminar, they’re at least willing to listen, though.
Also, regarding the guy who talked about people thinking that gay-friendly straight men are themselves gay? I really feel sorry for straight men who get that label, because I know what gay men go thru & I don’t want decent heterosexual men to go thru that.

You’re right. It was filmed in Denver awhile ago, and in many homes the conversation has progressed. But in my experience from working with heterosexual audiences for 35 years, the questions remain the same in many other homes. We’re making progress but there are still a lot of people who we will leave behind if we don;t take the time to address people’s basic fears.
