How do you set up an Xbox Live account using Talk Talk broadband?

I have talk talk broadband and would like to get my xbox 360 Live account up and running. What is the best solution to do this? People have talked about a wireless router but would this work with a talktalk account? If the wireless router was coming straight from the phone line then how would the xbox know which username and password to use? Do I have to connect it to my PC first and then send out the wireless signal from there??
